According to BusinessWeek, TEXAS Ranked at the Top of the List for Best States to do Business - 2009 and Again in 2010!    And No. 2 in 2011, following only Virginia. For five years in a row, Texas has been ranked at the top or almost at the top of the list for Best States to do Business.  Criteria used includes the economy, transportation, technology and innovation. I'm not sure whether or not being able to play golf year round was factored in -- probably not, so that's just a bonus!  

According to CNN Money (2011), Houston ranks at the top of the list as the No. 1 most affordable city for doing business . . . globally!  Some of the contributing factors are Houston's low cost of living, low real estate costs, low corporate taxes, as well as the fact that we have no state income tax.
